Winter 2017 Las Vegas Market manifests broad international appeal

Las Vegas Market announced that the global gift and home furnishings industry is coming together to shop and sell at the Winter 2017 Las Vegas Market, January 22-26, 2017, with major buyers and other visitors from nearly 80 countries already registered to attend, and 100 international companies confirmed to exhibit.

As the fastest-growing home décor and gift market in the Western states and the West Coast's only furniture market, Las Vegas Market continues to demonstrate enormous appeal to retailers and exhibitors from around the globe,” said Robert Maricich, Chief Executive Officer of International Market Centers. “Las Vegas Market is a focal point for the international home furnishings community, creating a dynamic and productive selling and shopping environment for international buyers and exhibitors.

According to Maricich, international attendee registrations are running ahead of those from the Summer 2016 Market, with representatives from 80 countries already registered to attend the coming Winter Market. To date, Canada represents the highest number of registered participants, with executives from 12 of the top 20 Canadian retail firms confirmed to attend, including the Cantrex Group, Leon's Furniture, Mega Group and The Brick. A significant number of visitors from Mexico also are registered, including representatives from Ace Home Center and Muebleria Placencia. Other notable international retailers planning to attend Winter Market include Unicomex from El Salvador, Furniture Palace from Curacao and Ferreteria ACE from Costa Rica.

Las Vegas Market is implementing a number of new and notable initiatives to welcome and cater to international buyers. Seminars, including Las Vegas Market's signature FIRST LOOK trend program will be simultaneously translated into Spanish, and a “Trends and Design Seminar” also will be presented exclusively in Spanish by Julio Cesar Chavez, President of SMI, Sociedad Mexicana de Interioristas, the Association of Interior Designers in Mexico. Additionally, top retailers from Mexico are being invited to participate in a special round table discussion about ways to improve their experiences at Las Vegas Market. There will be a special International Buyers Lounge on the first floor of Building C, where a light breakfast and lunch will be served and Spanish-speaking interpreters will be available as needed. Las Vegas Market also will offer a Spanish translation of its popular “Market 101” video.

In addition to the increasing numbers of international buyers, Las Vegas Market is attracting considerable numbers of international exhibitors, as well as U.S. representatives of international firms. Nearly 100 furniture, gift and home décor suppliers will be exhibiting independently at Winter Market. Countries represented are: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and United Kingdom.

In addition to these international firms, hundreds of high-profile international furniture and casual/outdoor brands will be showcased at Las Vegas Market by U.S. distributors. Notable among these are international furniture suppliers Canadel Furniture Inc., CDI International, CorLiving, Decor-Rest Furniture Ltd., Elite Home Theater Seating, Ivena International, Kuka Home, LH Imports, Magnussen Home, Mobital, Stylus Made to Order Sofas, Palliser Furniture, Primo International and Sunpan; and international casual and outdoor suppliers Corriveau Outdoor Furniture, C.R. Plastic Products, Inc. and RATANA.

Leading international gift, gourmet housewares, tabletop and home decor suppliers also are well represented at Las Vegas Market.
