Curtain up! Retailers will find striking ideas with a wow effect in Frankfurt am Main from 30 June to 3 July 2018. The most international order platform of the second half of the year, Tendence offers the trade a great experience and value added thanks to special areas such as Tendence.Impulse, Outdoor Living and the Tendence Academy.

Browse, gain inspiration, buy - ideas from the special product presentation at Tendence are easy to integrate into existing shops

Next season, Tendence will do one thing without neglecting the other: it will not only present the latest winter and Christmas trends for furnishing, living and giving but also give the high-volume, international trade an opportunity to place orders in good time for the subsequent spring and summer collections. However, Tendence is more than just an order fair - it stands for value added and is a source of expert information for the trade. “The quality of the special presentations at Tendence is very high and, via special exhibition areas and a wide-ranging complementary programme of events, we aim to show small to medium-sized retailers how to position products strategically and to turn shopping into an exciting experience”, says Philipp Ferger, Group Show Director, Tendence.

A world of experience at Tendence

Retailers need that certain something to attract the attention of consumers and individual product presentations, innovative assortments, eye-catching events and sustainable customer-retention programmes support them in this. Following the successful launch in 2017, the trade and Messe Frankfurt will once again bring table and decoration themes to life with customer events at the Tendence.Impulse area in Hall 11.0. Another tip: this is all available in digital form. Retailers looking for lastminute Christmas activities can draw inspiration online from the Tendence.Impulse website and obtain a digital event planner for their inshop activities, a simple do-it-yourself solution.

The Outdoor Living Area is set to be bigger with more exhibitors than in 2017. Garden plants will be displayed together with outdoor lifestyle products between the Galleria and Hall 10 and on outdoor area F11.

Another source of ideas is the special product show in Hall 9.0. There, the focus is on the integration of core and supplementary product lines and their presentation at the point-of-sale. It shows how to turn a shop into a kind of concept store, which arouses the curiosity of customers and tempts them into spending more time in the shop.

Ways in which point-of-sale design can attract greater attention and convert interest into buying intentions will be shown by nine renowned brands in the Village. In Hall 11.0, Cedon, Designimdorf, Charles & Marie, Donkey Products, Gift Company, Good old friends, Nogallery, Paperproducts and Werkhaus are points of contact and sources of inspiration for buyers.

Home trends

Exhibitors such as Edelmann, Greengate and Kaemingk are showing furnishing and decorating ideas for the home and garden in the ‘Lovely Home’ and ‘Seasonal Decoration’ product segments in Hall 8.0. In the ‘Pure & Elegant’ segment in Hall 9.0, functional, timeless and modernpuristic home design meets emotional, classic and elegant furnishing concepts with high-quality furniture, textiles and home accessories. There, exhibitors such as Fink, PAD and Philippi show what is ‘in’. Gilde, Hoff Interieur and Wurm present classic and decorative ideas for gifts in the ‘Gift Classics’ product segment in Hall 9.1. The ‘Sourcing’ segment moves from Hall 10 to Hall 9.2 and is thus even easier for visitors to reach. There, exhibitors such as Hasa Vietnam Arts & Crafts, J.C. International and SAG New Look present new products for volume buyers. At the ‘Jewellery, Fashion & Beauty’ product segment in Hall 11.1, exhibitors such as Biba, Lizas, Mertens Import, The Moshi and Top Team offer jewellery, watches and fashion accessories. In Hall 11.0, many exhibitors, including Artebene, Hoptimist and Gourmet Berner breathe life into the subjects of ‘Young Gifts’ and ‘Culinary Gifts’.

Hotel accommodation exclusively for visitors

For visitors to Tendence 2018, Messe Frankfurt has joined forces with the Frankfurt Hotel Alliance for the second time to offer Accommodation Packages with selected four and five star hotels in the vicinity of the fair for as little as € 79 per night - including breakfast, welcome drink and WLAN.

Tendence Academy

The programme of events for the European retail trade is a veritable source of inspiration offering relevant impulses for shop and window design and start-up help for the online business. Lectures for jewellery and accessories buyers and the green sector are held at the stage in Hall 9.1. Additionally, the Tendence Academy is exactly the right port of call for retailers and service providers wanting to boost their knowledge of web shops and online marketing.

Handicrafts at Tendence

Craftspeople and jewellery designers have the opportunity to present their creations within the framework of the ‘Talents’ promotional programme of Messe Frankfurt and visitors can see their unique articles and small product series in two separate areas: the Modern Crafts Talents show their work in the ‘Pure & Elegant’ segment in Hall 9.0 while jewellery designers are to be found in the ‘Jewellery, Fashion & Beauty’ segment in Hall 11.1. As in the past, the coming Tendence will also be an important platform for modern handicrafts thanks, in particular, to the renowned Design from Crafts and Industry exhibition in Hall 9.0, the competition for which is organised by the German Arts & Crafts Association (Bundesverband Kunsthandwerk) and Messe Frankfurt.
