At the request of the Spanish Natural Stone Federation (FDP), following its last Board meeting, IFEMA has agreed to change the dates for STONE 2012, the first INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION WEEK convention that will take now place on 8 - 11 May 2012, at the Feria de Madrid. The International Construction Week will comprise three traditional events organised by IFEMA, namely; VETECO, the International Trade Fair for Windows, Facades and Glass Structures; CONSTRUTEC, the Building Exhibition, and STONE, the International Natural Stone Trade Fair. Raúl Calleja, who has extensive commercial experience with IFEMA, will oversee the new event and the three rooms it will occupy.

Having been initially scheduled to run from 9-12 May 2012, the FDP Board of Directors (the promoters of STONE) deemed it convenient to integrate its Trade Fair into the International Construction Week that opens on Tuesday, 8 May, and closes on Friday 11 May, starting and ending one day earlier than their original schedule.

Joining the three halls within the framework of International Construction Week, that will be held on 8 - 11 November, aims to achieve greater interaction between the different sectors taking part and promote synergies that will boost business opportunities. It will be an important event for the sector, which will allow the pooling of common interests while at the same time enabling companies to maintain their own identity and space in each of the halls. STONE will be in Exhibition Halls 3 and 5, VETECO in Exhibition Halls 4, 6, 8 and 10 and CONSTRUTEC in Exhibition Hall 7 at the Feria de Madrid.
