A significantly increased number of participants and visitors took part in Office Next Moscow 2013, the IV. International Forum for Office Design, Technology and Real Estate. 3639 professional visitors, almost 30 per cent more than last year, visited the Forum in the Design Centre Artplay from May 14 - 16, 2013.

Among them were purchasers, architects, designers, developers, project & facility managers, constructors and solution providers from Russia & the CIS, Europe and America. The Premium Sponsors of this year's event were the companies Herman Miller and RD Construction Management.

62 exhibitors - 40 international and 22 Russian companies - participated in the exhibition TRENDS. Leading manufacturers from Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, the USA and other countries presented their products. Among them were the international brands Bene, Bisley, Dauphin, Herman Miller, Rehau, Steelcase, Walter Knoll, and Wilkhahn, large-scale lighting companies such as Delta Light, Karboxx and Philips, and leading manufacturers of flooring and equipment, e.g. Desso, Forbo, Hunter Douglas, Interface or Shaw Contract Group.

Visitors could enjoy several special exhibition areas at Office Next Moscow. Three design stand-cafés were located on the sunny outdoor terrace. The Russian architect Vladimir Kuzmin has created a spectacular red tent for Ergonomic Project HM; the design of the original booth of company Goodmax was developed together with the Dutch designer Richard Hutten.

The gallery space of the exhibition, the TREND ZONE, reflected a creative office space concept with the motto ‘flexibility, health, home’. Companies such as ConSet, Dinamica/Okamura, Glimakra of Sweden, Hunter Douglas, Isku, Johanson Design, Kondator and Milltex presented their solutions for the application fields of flex-offices, healthy working and ergonomics. Visitors had the opportunity to test the efficiency of working in “reclining” and “standing” positions, and could assess the significance of good workspace organization.

For the first time in the history of Office Next Moscow, leading manufacturers from Germany presented their novelties in the German Pavilion. The Pavilion was initiated by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, which strongly supports the promotion of German goods in the Russian market. 10 companies, including Assmann Büromöbel, Interstuhl, Rehau and Rhode & Grahl, joined under the brand “made in Germany”.

For the first time, the conference TALKS took place on all three days of the Forum. More than 70 Russian and international speakers gave presentations and workshops or moderated the numerous conference sessions and round table discussions. Among them were architects, developers, constructors, administrative directors, managers of large furniture manufacturing companies, experts for ergonomics, and many more. The delegates and speakers discussed about the most efficient use of workspace in tough economic situations, the difficulties when choosing business centers, the hidden costs for tenants, recommendations for the effective planning of offices and the care of employees’ health. The entire third day of the conference was devoted to one of the most topical and controversial theme - green solutions for business centers and offices.

The highlight of Office Next Moscow was the AWARDS ceremony for the Best Office Awards 2013. 93 projects were submitted for the contest, which included outstanding office projects of companies such as Afisha-Rambler, Bacardi, Continental, Deutsche Bank, Google, Merrill Lynch, Nike, S7 Airlines or SNS. An international jury, headed by the President of the Union of Architects of Russia, Andrey V. Bokov, selected the winners in 11 categories. The Grand Prix as well as the award in the category “Brand and Image” went to the new office of Yandex in St. Petersburg. The office was designed by the Russian architect office “za bor”. Projects submitted in the category “Foreign Project” came not only from Russia's neighbouring states Georgia, the Ukraine or the Baltic States, but from a lot more international countries than ever before, e.g. Finland, Sweden, Turkey and the USA. For the first time in the history of the AWARDS, the prize went to a project from the USA, to the office of Turner Construction, designed by m+a Global Architects.
