The use of wood as a versatile and sustainable element for contract projects as well as the search for new, more innovative and technologically adapted materials will star in the intense cycle of conferences to be held within the framework of the next edition of FIMMA - Maderalia, of 6 to February 9 at Feria Valencia. For this, the contest will have the presence of international prescribers of first line that will participate in the different forums and conferences that will be celebrated throughout the four days of the contest

One of the most outstanding activities will be the Sustainable Contract Encounter to be held on the afternoon of Thursday, February 8, in the conference room of the Foro Maderalia (N3P7). There, a leading group of professionals in architecture, interior design and design together with companies such as Häfele, Faus, Ica, Emedec, Sonae Arauco and Alvic will present in a dynamic way practical examples of how wood becomes an indispensable material for an architecture sustainable and that combine beauty and profitability as a vision for the growing contract sector. Participate in this meeting, which has the organization of the Vía Group, the architects José María Tomás,Juan Blázquez, Daniel Muñoz, Daniel Solbes, César Ruiz Larrea, Héctor Ruiz Velázquez and Ramón Esteve.

Precisely the Valencian architect signs another of the great star projects of the next edition of FIMMA - Maderalia. This is the ‘Easy Contract‘ exhibition, in which Ramón Esteve will recreate in the center of Pavilion N3P6 different spaces and rooms of an urban hotel, through a singular architecture and using the most innovative materials and processes that can be found today. in the market. In this project it has counted with the participation of exhibiting companies such as Sonae Arauco, Grupo Alvic, Faus, Tarimatec, Bariperfil, Emedec - Panelate and Arkos Light.

To this list of architects are added other names very prominent in the international scene and do not want to miss the next appointment of FIMMA - Maderalia. This is the case of the Japanese architect Shuichi Kobari, who is a member of the Pritzker Toyo Ito Prize and who, from the Italian firm Olivari, will give a conference on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 7, as part of the Olivari conference cycle around the design and architecture.

That same afternoon, the Andalusian firm Alvic, as part of its increasingly intense involvement in the contract world, promotes a thematic seminar on the design and application of the firm's products in the different projects. Under the slogan ‘Inspiring ideas‘, Alvic will establish a dialogue between the Puerto Rican architect Hector Ruiz Velazquez, the commercial director of Alvic Manuel Pizarro and the export director of this firm, Julián Ramírez.

In the contract area, the APA / FIPA Contract Forum for Automatic Doors will also be held, a specialized meeting around this sector with an exhibition presence at FIMMA - Maderalia 2018, and which will address various issues in the morning of Tuesday, February 6. about maintenance, security and positioning within contract projects.

The value of “authentic wood”

On the other hand, within the framework of FIMMA - Maderalia, the AEIM (Spanish Association of Wood Trade and Industry) will present a thematic space called Timber Experience / Space AEIM and in which global “real wood” will be promoted globally in its multiple uses: construction, architecture, structural, interior design.

In this space, which will be located in Pavilion N3P6 Stand C107, various events will be held throughout the four days of the fair. One of the most interesting days will undoubtedly be the monograph on the new models of sustainable construction with wood that will be held on Wednesday, February 8 and will be attended by young architects Sergio Baragaño and María Sánchez Ontín. Both will show in a practical way projects in which wood has played a leading role as the innovative Casa Montaña.

Also the area ‘Timber Experience‘ will be the scene of the presentation of the monograph of the AEIM on wooden facades, on Thursday 8 or the presentation also that Thursday by Neil Summers (AHEC technical advisor) on the correct installation of facades, essential factor for the success of the projects that are carried out.

In addition, the exhibition “Too good to waste“, promoted by AHEC (American Hardwood Export Council), will be exhibited in said area. It is an interactive installation designed by Benedetta Tagliabue of EMBT, developed by Benchmark artisan cabinetmakers in American oak, maple, cherry and tulipwood. This bold installation of wood consists of four individual and unique pieces, which, as visitors pass, are transformed to reveal elegant pieces of hidden furniture.

The ‘Timber Experience‘ AEIM Classroom will also be the stage on the morning of Tuesday, February 6, of the Course given by PEFC Spain around the ‘application of EUTR's regulatory requirements and certification in the forest value chain’, which will have the presence of representatives of the national and regional administration as well as forest technicians and forest engineers.

The intense agenda of events of FIMMA - Maderalia will be complemented by several thematic conferences organized by exhibiting companies. This is the case of the firm Sugimat, which will present at the Maderalia Forum on the morning of Wednesday, February 7, a paper on the ‘application of artificial vision in self-managed thermal plants’. Also in the same space the multinational lumber company Garnica will hold a conference on the new fireproof plywood ‘Fireshield’.

Similarly, all professionals visiting FIMMA - Maderalia will have access to the powerful conference program of Cevisama, which in this edition has on its payroll Pritzker awards such as Eduardo Souto de Moura and Rafael Moneo with teachers like Francisco Mangado or Emilio Tuñón .
