The Los Angeles Stahl House, also called Case Study House 22, is a landmark in world architecture by Pierre Koenig. The house was completed in 1960 at the slopes of Hollywood.

The Stahl House, is as much about what is there as what is not. You never feel completely inside or outside. Instead, you ride a pleasant combination of both, protected and free at the same time. The view wraps around you and everything you see is bathed in natural light. You’re aware of the position of the sun and know when constellations will rise at night. You see fireflies stream between bushes and planes in the distance lining up to land - which mimics which? You realize this is so much more than a house and imagine building your own glass home. Then you remember: You have neighbors.

The house renews its furniture every season and now STUA has had the privilege of dressing its interiors with:

  • The Costura sofa and Solapa and Marea tables in the living area
  • The dining area includes Laclasica chairs and some Onda stools by the kitchen counter
  • The bedroom features Gas task chair for the home office
  • The outdoor place includes Deneb table and benches and some Globus chairs

This project has been possible thanks to the exclusive retailer of STUA in the USA: Design Within Reach.

STUA is a design furniture manufacturer from San Sebastian, Spain, founded in 1983 by Jesús Gasca. STUA offers a contemporary furniture collection based on chairs, tables, stools, storage, lounge and outdoor furniture. STUA collection is suitable for residential use or commercial enviroments.

What separates STUA furniture from much of contemporary design furniture is the enduring nature of form. The timeless design.
The work of STUA is conceived and executed at an extraordinarily high level of aesthetic and engineering detail. The work is innovative and original. There is a fresh spirit to the work, but its character is grounded firmly in the principles and character of classic modern design, that of simplicity and timelessness.
