Hidráulica Disseny Studio has carried out in Amposta (Tarragona) the interior design and the whole remodelling of an old sandwich bar, La Sifoneria, and they have turned it into an attractive space, informal and fun, but full of little details.

Hidràulica tells us its project,

Playing with the initial arrangement of the establishment (bathrooms and kitchen), it was decided to change the bar , adapting it to the dimensions of the place, as well as the fact of creating 3 differenciate tables areas.

A high tables area designed with a metal structure and hydraulic tile to have “tapas” in an informal way, a central area with our “Fusta table” of 6 long metres and a capacity of 20 people, and in the lateral area a linear bench of brown leather and tables for two or four people.

The kitchen has been arranged, and we´ve adapted it to its current necessities, opening a new window towards the dinning room; this allows us to see the chef´s work and also to improve the fluency between kitchen and dinning room.

Under this premise we have assembled the whole project, giving certain industrial aesthetic, with iron structures and continuous concrete pavements.

Another inspiration source has been the building materials used in the neighbourhood in the past: red sun-dried briks, hydraulic tile, walls of stone and pinewood.

Red handmade sun-dried briks leave the floor to cover walls, giving texture and an infinite number of shades.

Hydraulic pavements have been recovered (from old neibourhood houses) and they give a strong identity to the place, and finally we find a pinewood panel that gives to the space the warmth that we were looking for.

The owners were searching a funcional and warm place to offer local produce.

Hidraulica has been also in charge of all the furniture design and fabrication , all has been designed exclusively for the occasion (tables, selves, lamps...).

An infinity of details makes up a project where it has been taking care of even the smallest details..
