NOTE Design Studio will carry out the Design Bar at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2017

The assignment to create the Design Bar at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair de 2017 has gone to Note Design Studio. Using the concept Sulla bocca di tutti, which means “on everybody's lips”, the studio's goal is to create a warm, inspirational and generous experience.

The Design Bar, which is a cross between an exhibition and a world-class restaurant, will be created this time in cooperation with Isabella Morrone, Head Chef at Mother in Stockholm.

“The Design Bar is a full-scale restaurant that only exists for one week. This opens a door to many creative possibilities and we really want to take advantage of this opportunity and create something exciting. Over the years we have spent many wonderful hours in the Design Bar, and now we want to capture this feeling in our design. It is our ambition to create a space that feels warm, visual and inviting for everyone. We forget words like “attractive”, “smart” and “functional” during our creative process,” explains Johannes Karlström, Note Design Studio.

Note Design Studio would like to turn the Design Bar into a temperate zone at the fair. The color scheme will range from light pink to deep burgundy. It will be open with different design elements and offer varying spatiality. The name, Sulla bocca di tutti, also reflects the menu that has been created by Chef Isabella Morrone and features unexpected combinations from the Italian and the Swedish kitchens.

Note Design Studio was founded in 2008 and is based out of Stockholm. It works on global projects related to architecture, product design and design strategy. In 2015 it was named Designer of the Year by the magazine Residence and in 2016 it was named Designer of the Year by Swedish ELLE Decoration.

Isabella Morrone was recently named Head Chef at Mother in Stockholm, which is run by chefs Melker Andersson and Danyel Couet. She comes from Caina, where she was named Head Chef at only 27 years of age. Isabella Morrone also worked abroad at two-star Carré des Feuillants in Paris and three-star El Racó de Can Fabes outside of Barcelona.

Previous Design Bars have been the work of the architecture firm Marge, the Front design group, design duo BrobergRidderstråle, the Save our Souls duo, the Camp Site design collective, Jonas Wagell, Katrin Greiling, Lina Nordqvist, Daniel Rybakken, Jens Fager/Tommy Myllymäki, Mattias Stenberg and most recently, Andreas Martin-Löf/Fredrik Eriksson.

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will be held on February 7-11, 2017 at Stockholmsmässan.
