Frag continues its focus on experimentation and research by presenting once again in 2012 daring new shapes and special features, enhancing a collection of alluring furniture that combines contemporary design with artisanal techniques, comfort and harmonious lines. The Button chair, by Giopato & Coombes, reinterprets the past in a harmonious blend of different compositional elements.

The slightly curved seat and back have sinuous, rounded forms emphasised by padding that accentuates the thickness. “Pleating” enhances the chair's generous shape and contour and lends a sense of three-dimensionality to the side panels by creating a delicate play of light and shadow. In contrast, the natural-wood structure is austere and linear, serving both to support and connect the chair's main elements.

Giopato & Coombes, collaborating with Frag for the first time, have created a new collection of highly versatile furniture that offers a simple design and a clean, modern style, yet also incorporates appealing details and ironic touches - a successful combination of comfort and aesthetics. These readily understandable products strike a balance between contemporary design and traditional techniques, while highlighting the characteristics of the materials from which they are made - soft leather and thick leather.

Frag will be at Salone Internazionale del Mobile in an space located at Hall 16, Stand D49.
