From December 15, 2017 to March 21, 2018, Espai Rö exhibits “Dalla cucina alla tavola ”, (“From the kitchen to the table” in english), dedicated to design and gastronomy. For the occasion Espai Rö, architecture studio and design furniture showroom based in Barcelona, has selected some objects and pieces of furniture representative of his personal view around the world of food, among which the collaboration of the Italian kitchen firm Abimis, which transfers the high quality and technology of professional stainless steel kitchens to the domestic environment.

The exhibition features the kitchen Ego by Abimis, designed by Alberto Torsello, an island made of stainless steel, characteristic material of the professional kitchens of hotels and restaurants.

Representative of the Ego design are the absence of joints, the rounded profiles, the resistance to impacts and the orbital polish that reduces the visibility of scratches and fingerprints. The attention to detail and the desire to create an exceptional product has led to design even the hinges of the doors, also in steel, which are welded and are hidden from view.

Following the theme of the exhibition “Dalla cucina a la tavola “, some selected pieces accompany the diner on this trip between design objects that would fit in the home of the most refined palates.

It is worth mentioning the Cleto Munari cutlery designed by Carlo Scarpa (1977), the “Hommage” sideboard of the Swiss firm Röthlisberger Kollektion designed by Atelier Oď (2012) or the Pensile design bookshop by A. & P.G. Castiglioni (1957) of the Danish publisher Karakter-Copenhagen. The exhibition, open to the public, has a total of 41 pieces from companies such as Mingardo, PP Mřbler, Davide Groppi, When Objects Work, Moroso, Venini, in addition to the aforementioned Abimis, Cleto Munari, Röthlisberger Kollection or Karakter-Copenhagen.

During the inauguration, which took place on December 14, the food designer Pepi de Boissieu devised a gourmet experience based on the concept “ode to the sea” in which the attendees enjoyed a direct experience about Abimis cuisine.

A mountain of seaweed spaghetti was prepared on the island and each guest was able to use the sink faucet directly, a glass of “Orange“, a natural wine of orange color resulting from the pressing process of the white grape with its own skin.

Under the light of the lamp “Moon” by Davide Groppi, a seabed formed by sponges of sponge cake ended the journey.

In conclusion, a culinary journey that can be enjoyed in Espai Rö until the spring of 2018 and a fantastic presentation letter for the debut of the Italian brand Abimis in Barcelona.

Abimis - Prisma

Ab imis fundamentis’ is an expression that indicates the need for the radical renewal of a standard of living, and it is precisely around this concept that Abimis was born, a company of the Prisma group that leads the professional restoration of large installations to domestic environments, to innovate the act to cook directly at home.
Prisma is an Italian company dedicated to the design and manufacture of professional kitchens in stainless steel for hotels, restaurants, cruises, cafeterias, self-service, large companies ... Since its birth, in 1983, the evolution of the firm has been constant, and since in 1987, it began to export part of its production.

The Abimis kitchens, made on request, are not made as standard, they are handmade one by one. The AISI 304 steel achieves that, besides being resistant, they have an unlimited duration, they are easy to clean, 100% recyclable and absolutely hygienic.

Espai Rö

Since opening its doors in 2010, Espai Rö has claimed to be more than an architecture studio and much more than a showroom. Directed by the architect Efrem López, Espai Rö is a space to enjoy architecture and design. Espai Rö was born with the philosophy of quality work done with heart, its vision of architecture is strongly committed to the materiality of things, with its texture and composition. Simplicity is their goal; the material and tradition of the trades, their tools.

Their passion for design and furniture led them to think of their place of work as a space where, in addition to projecting, they could share and disseminate the furniture culture. This is how they understand their showroom, as a place where they regularly exhibit selected pieces of international brands of furniture and lighting, capable of transmitting their uniqueness, the poetry of detail and the tradition of excellence.
