Design Thrives to Revive the World in a Post-Pandemic Age

Design China Beijing's theme this year is “Design Thrives toRevive the World” and continues to focus on sustainable design. The challenges the design community faces after the pandemic go far beyond creating a chair, a carpetor an interior decoration item. Materials x Design

“New Materials & Applications” in 2019 proved to be a popular section, so Design China Beijing 2020 will expand this section into the newly curated “Materials x Design”. This section features the most cutting-edge materials in a futuristic space and showcases interior design based on the idea of “future social distancing”. “Materials x Design” brings a wide range of materials to visitors as well as design products made of innovative materials. Visitors may also participate in workshops to get first-hand experience with new materials.

Casa Casa Home

As one of the first design furniture shops that represent international brands, Casa Casa is committed to bringing design into daily life and introducing design products to more people. For Design China Beijing 2020, Casa Casa will present multiple curated spaces to illustrate how design products can be incorporated into living spaces in a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing way. Luxury Residential Homes

The Beijing show will invite designers to present their design concepts for luxury residences. Within this theme, visitors will be able to experience various styles of luxury interior design which incorporates both Chinese aesthetics and foreign visual languages.

Kids at Home

Design China Beijing will look into furniture for children through the new “Kids at Home” section, which investigates the trends and considerations for designing a healthy and safe environment for children. The show works with professionals to select specialised brands and to present real-life scenarios such as sleep, study and play areas .

Future Shop

While the pandemic has created an astronomical loss of revenue for retail, it has also presented opportunities. A new type of retail does not only integrate online and offline channels but also maximises the complementary advantages of both methods. “Future Shop” will invite online brands to crossover with designers to create retail spaces of the future and to host workshops for visitors to discuss the next stage of retail and offline shops.

Design China Beijing 2020 will continue to showcase design from China and abroad and present innovative products and trends in thematic sections; additionally, the forum will feature over 30 industry leaders who will exchange inspirations and share ideas about how design can continue to revitalise our life.
