Bonaldo has won the Belgian award Henry van de Velde Label 2015 for the Structure sofa by Alain Gilles. Structure was selected from 206 products and will be exhibited in January 2016 at Bozar, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels and the country's main cultural centre, along with the other 19 finalists’ products.

Founded in 2006, the Henry van de Velde Label is awarded every year by Design Flanders, a prestigious institution that promotes and awards the most innovative designs of Belgian designers during Design September. The award of the Henry van de Velde Label represents further confirmation of the interest in Bonaldo style on the international markets and by design fans.

Structure is a collection of padded items designed by Alain Gilles for Bonaldo, which includes sofas of various sizes, chaise longues and an armchair. “Structure Sofa came from the idea of playing with the structure of a classic sofa, “opening” it to reveal its soft interior and creating a dynamic movement between the seat and the back“.

As expressed clearly by its name, it is the actual structure that defines the logic of the products, in which the metal core is sometimes highlighted and sometimes partially hidden, hence giving the sofa or the armchair an absolutely informal appearance. The Structure collection is made with painted metal legs available in anthracite grey, white, dove grey, black or green, colours that can be chosen in contrast to the cover, which is made of leather or fabric, generating an unexpected aesthetic effect.
