The Dsignio studio wins I Design Smoking Chair Contest, organized by Club Pasión Habanos

Alberto Bejerano and Patxi Cotarelo from Dsignio studio were the winners of the First Design Smoking Chair Contest, with the Smoke armchair. Organized by Club Pasión Habanos, this competition aims to design a chair smoking according to new trends in design. Shortly, an exhibition in the Vitra showroom in Madrid will display the prototype of the chair.

Dsignio has won in the professional category, in its particular vision of cigar smoking seat, with a prize of 5,000 euros. The jury praised as have managed to reinterpret the chair cigar smoker, combining modernity, comfort and innovation. Smoke Armchair has a starring curves, inspired by the soft and sinuous Habano smoke shapes comfortably welcoming smoker.

Julia Lapeña, student of architectural lighting master of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, was the creator of the winning project for the student category. Smokube is the name of the design that has won the prize of a practicing in the interior architect and designer Studio, Tomas Alia and a cash prize of 1,000 euros.

The jury was composed by experts from the design including Fernando Amat, Vinçon; Alvaro Catalan, Ocon; Pedro Feduchi, president DIMAD; and Sison Pujol, Nomon Design and president of ADP; and Tomas Alia, Tomas Alia Studio.
