Japanese Naoya Misawa wins the 8th Gandia Blasco International Outdoor Furniture Design Competition

The winners of the VIII Gandia Blasco International Outdoor Furniture Design Competition already been announced. The Japanese Naoya Misawa has been awarded with 1st. Prize for his project “Girasoles” (Sunflowers) with 2,000 euros.

The second prize has relapsed in Spaniard Eloy Quero, with his design project “Clips“, worth 1,000 euros.

Italian Michele Marin has received a Special Mention for his project “Monaco36“.

At this year edition, the specialized jury includes José A. Gandia-Blasco, Gandia Blasco's President, Vicente Todolí, ex Director of the Valencia Institute for Modern Art (IVAM) and current artistic director of Hangar Bicocca in Milan, Sandra Tarruella, of Sandra Tarruella Interioristas and galerist Oliva Arauna.

Participants, students or young design professionals between 18 and 35 years, had to design an outdoor extendable table. The only requirements were that could be industrially reproducible and not used wood as a material. Congratulations to the winners!
