Dorobanti is a new creative accessible contemporary furniture brand launched at imm cologne. The new venture, with designs by London-based New Zealand-born, Leonhard Pfeifer, is the modern face of Romanian furniture manufacturer TehnoForestExport, founded in 1965, who until now, specialised in traditional furniture manufacturing.

This inaugural collection of contemporary furniture created in collaboration with UK based designer Leonhard Pfeifer gives the company a fresh identity and a new path for the future. Leonhard had a clear vision to create a range of contemporary furniture with broad appeal. Working predominately with solid timber and using a variety of naturalistic finishes, the range features thoughtful and well-chosen details including finely crafted joints, subtle curves and playful jolts of colour, all of which bring the designs to life.

The 52-piece collection, made up of 5 main living ranges (Clapham, Cardona, Garibaldi, Giola and Precotto) plus the Precotto bedroom range. All include intelligently designed and beautifully crafted furniture for living, dining and sleeping spaces. Some of the highlight pieces include:

Affoltern Dining Table and Danja Chairs

Robust and rustic-looking, the solid oak Affoltern dining table and Danja dining chairs are fresh and funky with their turned struts in paintbox-bright colours. This beautifully designed accent is not just a decoration but an integral element within the construction, perfectly stabilising the playful pieces.

Clapham Living

Clapham straddles a streamlined, contemporary aesthetic and a warmly organic look. Pared-down and fashioned from a single material, solid oak, it's sleekly minimalist. Yet its integrated handles that cast soft shadows and gently curved edges make it tactile and easy-onthe-eye. The Clapham series includes an extending dining table, dining bench and the Eroilor dining chair & a sideboard, media unit, coffee table and writing desk.

Precotto Living and Bedroom

Precotto hints at old-world classicism, its neutral paintwork channelling Sweden's elegant, 18th-century Gustavian style. A scalloped rail running under its dining table's top is subtly ornate, as are the upholstered chairs’ tapered legs and the sideboard's delicate beading. The Precotto collection also encompasses a comprehensive bedroom range. This bed (in two heights) and its various companion pieces are as romantic and stately as their counterparts in the living range.
