The new collection of multi-purpose Appia seats, resulting from the long-standing collaboration between Maxdesign and the Swiss designer Christoph Jenni, stems from experimentation with advanced technologies on a high performing material such as aluminium. The participation of the Italian design brand at the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair will host for presentation to Swedish public, from 3 to 7 February 2015.

The frame underscores the seats’ considerable innovation and represents their environmental sustainability. Made of die-cast aluminium, an amazingly durable and fully recyclable material, the intrinsic characteristics of which enhance the functionality of the Appia seats, they are extremely light in weight, yet solid and stable, featuring strictly archetypal shapes while being extremely comfortable to sit in.

With or without armrests, stackable, for use alone or in groups, in private or in shared spaces, indoors or outdoors, Appia adapts to the most different situations, in line with the cross-cutting and multi-tasking approach typical of Maxdesign, for the workplace and beyond.

Die cast aluminium frame, also painted with various colours. The seats and backrests are available in batch-dyed polypropylene, in oak plywood or upholstered in fabric and leather.
