K*RVI Bar in Helsinki (Finland) is designed to be a comfortable living room for the urban customer. Both branding and interior elements are tuned to have an individual look to avoid the commercial feel of chain bars. The tone voice comes from spoken language and the text message style of writing. Bond Creative Agency has been shortlisted at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2013 for this project in the Europe Bar category.

The brief was to design a bar concept that appeals to a younger trendy audience within a rapidly changing Finnish market where traditional pubs and bars are losing customers. K*rvi was to be a comfortable living room where customers could spend their leisure time, play games and meet friends.

The main challenge was to design a concept that is easy to multiply and at the same time have a credible handmade look to avoid the commercial eel of chain bars.

Both branding and interior elements are tuned to have an individual look. Furniture is custom designed to fit the handmade appearance. Graphic illustration presents recognizable elements from local surrounding and the tone voice comes from spoken language and the text message style of writing.
