The OW149 Colonial Chair was designed by Ole Wanscher in 1949. Wanscher wished to create furniture that paid tribute to classic conservative trends but also stood the test of time. He achieved this balance with the design of the Colonial Chair, and it remains his most famous design to this day.

As a minimalist, Wanscher preferred the slim and refined. Yet despite its slender dimensions, the Colonial Chair is very stable. Its strength lying in the carefully designed bracing. The design's sophisticated, slightly curved armrests rise to a point before taking a turn downward - a trademark Wanscher feature. The front and back legs are made of roundwood timber, with the back legs curving gently outward for added stability and a more refined result.

When we talk about legends, it could miss the master Hans J. Wegner with the coffee table CH011 designed in 1954. Superbly crafted from solid wood, the gently-tapered legs add a sense of lightness to the sturdy table. With curved elements throughout, this versatile rectangular table breathes warmth into any space and pairs well with most Wegner chairs.

Hans J. Wegner designed the CH163 sofa in 1965, using a down filling for luxurious comfort. This large, three-seater sofa neatly exemplifies how Wegner often highlighted structural details to great effect.

The CH23 dining chair was one of the first chairs Hans J. Wegner designed exclusively for Carl Hansen &Søn in 1950. The pieces he created at this time were not only unique, but also set new standards for modern furniture design with their artistic expression and ergonomic form.

Although the CH23 chair may appear uncomplicated at first glance, it incorporates many fine, sophisticated details, among them the elegant cruciform cover caps in the backrest, a double-woven seat, and arched rear legs that ensure optimal stability.
