On 22 October, Fritz Hansen opened a big flagship store in Milan. The opening marks the beginning of a new development for Fritz Hansen. Within the coming months, Fritz Hansen is planning to open additional flagship stores in Copenhagen, Tokyo and Suzhou. And the ambitions go even further...

Today, Fritz Hansen has fourteen Republic of Fritz Hansen stores around the world, one is own and operated by Fritz Hansen alone, while the others are run in cooperation with a partner. That is set to change soon, as Fritz Hansen aims to open more flagship stores in the main metropolises around the world.

We have defined a new strategy for our retail concept, because we believe that we need to show our consumers the full Fritz Hansen universe in order to offer a more inspiring setting. A visual and sensory universe that reflects our brand as a leader in the design and lifestyle field,’ says Sofie Lindahl-Jessen, Executive Vice President Sales & Brand Management, Republic of Fritz Hansen and continues: ´Fritz Hansen has made an ambitious growth plan for the next three years where part of the growth is planned to come from branded retail. We expect to grow though our current Republic of Fritz Hansen stores with a higher focus on visual merchandising and training as from opening new stores - either with partners or alone´.

The new flagship store opened in Milan on 22 October in the fashionable design district Brea. The shop is located in a classic, Italian square that is also the site of Milan's oldest church. The bright and airy rooms are decorated with Nordic materials and colours and welcome visitors with a homely and inspiring atmosphere. The custom-designed store showcases Fritz Hansen as a vibrant, international design house that treats its visitors to an extraordinary sensory and visual experience.

The store is an extension of the universe that Fritz Hansen presented at this year's Salone del Mobile fair, where stylist Christine Rudolph designed the existing showroom as a flat with a living room, office, dining room and bedroom, all designed in a Nordic aesthetic but with a cosmopolitan touch.
