Cartwright Pickard, Foster + Partners, Hugh Broughton Architects, Ian Ritchie Architects and Tonkin Liu have been winning UK based studios and Spanish company Cuéllar Stone sculpted designs to show them at Cosentino City London showroom during last London Design Week 2019 Cartwright Pickard

Cosentino Group Cosentino is delighted to present the five winning sculptures from its Carved in Stone competition. The first competition of its kind from the leading Spanish brand, prestigious architecture practices across the UK were invited to put forward their concepts for marble sculptures around the theme ‘Life on Mars’, juxtaposing this ancient material with a futuristic brief. The call has received many high quality designs, with five proposals remaining as winners that have been subsequently sculpted by the Almeria company Cuéllar Stone. The winning projects have been devised by the most prestigious and award-winning British studios: Cartwright Pickard, Foster + Partners, Hugh Broughton Architects, Ian Ritchie Architects and Tonkin Liu. The winning sculptures were judged by a panel comprising Cosentino's Global Executive Vice President of Sales and CEO of Cosentino North America, Eduardo Cosentino; Founder and CEO of Cuellar Stone, Diego Martinez Cruz, Cosentino UK's National Sales Manager, Chris Hay; Cosentino's Vice President for Marketing and Communication, Santiago Alfonso and Cosentino's Vice President for Global Product & RD, Valentin Tijeras. Cuellar Stone, a Spanish company dedicated to special projects involving natural stone, has brought the five forward-thinking winning concepts to life, carving the intricate designs out of blocks of 500 x 500 x 500mm Macael Marble. To celebrate London Design Festival 2019, the sculptures has been showcased in the Cosentino City London showroom from the 16-20 September. Foster + Partners
