Formex continues to cement its position as the leading event in Nordic interior design. The autumn fair attracted 973 exhibitors, 783 media representatives and 23,407 visitors from 54 countries.

Total visitor numbers are slightly lower this time, but business was brisk and there was a real energy in the halls. Many exhibitors said how happy they were with the influx of orders they received during the fair,” reports Chicie Lindgren, Formex project manager.

Formex is committed to developing itself, capturing international trends and meeting the needs and wishes of exhibitors and visitors. Following several surveys and trendspotting exercises, this year's autumn fair therefore boasted several new features, including a new date on the calendar, the Formex Trend Zone, where creative team Coco Form was commissioned to interpret four international trends from a Nordic perspective, and a popular kitchen section called The Odd Nest, designed by Oddbirds. The Moi Moi exhibition, an homage to Helsinki as this year's design capital, also proved a big hit. Formex's international press program was a huge success, welcoming 14 interior design journalists from Germany, Finland, Denmark, France, the UK, Italy, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The international numbers were up, both in terms of visitors and countries. Formex works actively on its long-term international strategy to attract visitors and media from abroad, and it is great to see that work generating such excellent results,” says Chicie Lindgren.

The next Formex will take place on 17-20 January 2013 at Stockholmsmässan. The public are already invited to visit www.formex.se and vote for this year's Formex Formidable product and the winner of the people's vote will be announced at Formex Spring.
