Ligna 2015 paving the way to Industry 4.0 for the furniture production sector

The fourth industrial revolution is increasingly setting the pace – also in the furniture industry. Deutsche Messe will be doing full justice to this trend at LIGNA 2015 from 11 to 15 May, and is staging two events designed to bring the visitor up to date on Industry 4.0 technology in general, and on networked production in the furniture industry in particular.

On the Tuesday of the show, starting at 2 p.m., a lecture program will explore the subject of “Networked production in the furniture industry” in the Robotation Academy at the Hannover Exhibition Center. The guest speakers will present various solutions and report on their own experiences with examples of best practice. Those taking part include Lignum Consulting GmbH, IBM Deutschland GmbH, 3Tec automation GmbH & Co. KG, Beckhoff Automation GmbH & Co. KG, Lenze Automation GmbH and Bernecker & Rainer Industrie Elektronik Ges. m.b.H. The lecture program will be accompanied by a presentation from the technology cluster “it’s owl“: innovative research and industry projects exploring the theme of Industry 4.0, with special reference to the furniture and furniture component industry. The event is sponsored by Biesse S.p.A., the HOMAG Group AG and IMA Klessmann. Visitors can register to attend the event free of charge at www.ligna.de/en/events.
