Once a year, the leading international trade fair, Ambiente, showcases the new trends for the table, kitchen, household, home and the world of gifts. Contract Business offers solutions specifically aimed at the HoReCa sector.

In February, some 135,000 trade visitors from over 150 countries came to find out about the new products from around 4,800 exhibitors. From 12 to 16 February 2016, there will, once again, be a display in Frankfurt am Main of the things that will be populating shop windows and the web pages of online shops next year. The Living and Giving sections of the show will both share the western end of the Exhibition Centre. At the last edition of the fair over 2,200 exhibitors presented innovative products for the modern kitchen, household aids and small electric appliances in the eastern part, as well as the whole range of products that are involved in laying and decorating the dining table.

Ambiente is unique, not only because of its size, but also because it is a platform of inspirational ideas for trends and design, and sets the tone for the whole sector - and, indeed, on a world scale. The clear layout of the product groups at Ambiente keeps distances short and makes it very easy to find your way around,” says Thomas Kastl, Director of Ambiente Dining.

Lifestyle in the kitchen

The ‘Kitchen’ product group offers cooking, frying and baking utensils, cutlery and knives, as well as kitchen appliances and machinery. Fiskars, Fissler, Le Creuset, KitchenAid, WMF and Zwilling are just some of the big-name brands, who will be introducing their innovations here. Small electrical appliances, barbecues and barbecue accessories are an important part of the product range in Halls 3.0 and 3.1. In the ‘Kitchen Trends’ sections in Halls 1.1 and 1.2, visitors will find utensils for use in the bar and for preparing and serving drinks, as well as kitchen accessories and products for the dining tables of younger people. Exhibitors such as Bovictus with their ‘Zone’ and ‘Galzone’ brands, Joseph Joseph, Mastrad and Sagaform will be showcasing their on-trend designs.

The finest of dinner tables

From factory-based manufacturers to design-oriented companies, from branded items to specialists in the hotel, restaurant and catering trade: in the ‘Table’ section buyers will find the unusual, the best of the best, the trend setters and the sales drivers. The ‘Table Contemporary’ product group, in Hall 4.1, showcases the new trends with suppliers such as Alessi, Asa Selection, Eva Solo, Georg Jensen, LSA International and Stelton. ‘Table Prestige’, also in Hall 4.1, offers the finest porcelain and ceramics.

When it comes to the premium area at Ambiente, buyers will find the top players in the sector. The State Porcelain Factory of Meissen and the Höchst Porcelain Factory will be exhibiting again for the first time in more than ten years, alongside manufacturers such as Herend, Lladro, Moser and Richard Ginori. French manufacturers, Faïencerie de Gien, will be exhibiting their product ranges for the first time in Frankfurt. And long-standing exhibitors such as Dibbern, Rosenthal, Tiroler Glashütte (Riedel), Villeroy & Boch and Wedgwood will again be introducing new collections. International brands are also on offer in ‘Table Daily Life’ in Halls 4.2 and 6.2. The BHS Group is represented at Ambiente by three brands: Bauscher, Schönwald and Tafelstern. And companies such as Arc International, Bormioli Rocco, Bonna, Libbey, Paşabahçe and Rak Porcelain will be presenting some new ranges as well as some of their old favourites. Wholesale and other large-scale buyers will find glass, porcelain and ceramics in the ‘Table Top Trade’ section in Halls 6.2 and 6.3, including suppliers such as Arda Cam, Gibson Overseas, Vidrios Reciclados San Miguel and Wrześniak Glassworks.

Practical items for kitchen and household

In Halls 5.0, 5.1, 6.0 and 6.1, the ‘Houseware & Storage’ group offers solutions and products to make everyday life a little easier. Be it for storing, cleaning or preparing; by selling practical and attractive household aids for home and kitchen, retailers can score highly with customers. Companies such as Brabantia, Fackelmann, Hailo, Leifheit, Lock & Lock, Rotho, Tescoma and Wesco will be exhibiting their solutions for both private and professional use.

Sourcing platform for volume sales

As the largest sourcing platform outside China, Ambiente offers buyers ideal conditions for volume contracts. Thanks to its clear structure and the short distances between product groups in the ‘Passage’ area, buyers can efficiently place orders in several different segments. In the product groups ‘Passage Table & Decoration’, ‘Passage Table & Kitchen Select’, and ‘Passage Dining & Houseware’, volume suppliers with abundant experience in the export trade will be presenting an international selection of products.

Solutions for the HoReCa trade; commercial and contract business

Since 2012, the hotel, restaurant and catering trades (HoReCa), together with commercial and contract business, has become increasingly important at Ambiente. Professional buyers, furnishings experts, interior architects, restaurateurs and the higher echelons of the hotel trade can meet up with around 270 specialised exhibitors. The ‘Contract Guide’ is a brochure that provides information about exhibitors and contact persons and can be used during the show. The ‘Contract Business’ label makes it easy to find exhibitors, both on the website and in the halls.

New: Ethical Style Guide

From 2016 onwards, Ambiente offers buyers, for the first time, help in finding their way around in a highly complex global product segment. To this end, the organisers have produced an ‘Ethical Style Guide’. Using categories such as ‘Eco-Friendly Materials‘, ‘Fair & Social Production’, ‘Re-/Upcycling Design’, and ‘Handmade Manufacturing’ the Ethical Style Guide provides information about the various aspects of sustainability to be found amongst a large number of exhibitors.

Inspiration with added value

The visitor programme at Ambiente is an important instrument for ensuring an efficient visit to the show. Before ordering, trade visitors can get a distilled overview at special shows such as the ‘Ambiente Trends 2016’, ‘Design Plus’, ‘German Design Award’, ‘Talents and Solutions’. With their focus on trends, design and functional innovation, these formats provide important stimulus and inspiration for one's own selection. The partner country for this leading world trade fair in 2016 is to be Italy. Their display, in the foyer of Hall 4.1, will, next year, be the responsibility of the famous Italian designer, Paola Navone, and will provide an impressive setting for the products of the almost 400 Italian exhibitors. And the ‘Kitchen Innovation of the Year’ (Kücheninnovation des Jahres©) will again be chosen at Ambiente.
