In order to emphasise its market relevance, a good trade show should highlight a sector's current trends - or even define them. The LivingInteriors show that takes place in January 2014 will therefore be presenting the trends in bathrooms, flooring, wall coverings and lighting on a Trend Avenue that runs throughout the entire hall and is being staged in collaboration with the German Design Council.

One section of it features products and materials from exhibitors and provides a quick overview of the coming trends. Another section presents the winners of the Interior Innovation Award with products for interior design.

LivingInteriors offers visitors more than just a show dedicated purely to furniture. That's why, by focusing on the areas bathrooms, flooring, wall coverings and lighting, it provides the ideal complement to the portfolio of the imm cologne, which is held simultaneously. The concept is based on the kind of integrated interior concepts for which there is such a growing demand in the furnishing sector. Its event character is another special feature of the trade fair, which was launched in 2012 and is held every two years: LivingInteriors hosts special shows, lectures and interior design consultations that aim to inspire trade visitors and consumers alike.

Entering Hall 4.2 from the central boulevard, you arrive directly at the first special show - Trend Avenue. As the name suggests, it runs straight through the entire hall like a street and is flanked by presentation cubes. Trend Avenue ends at a dedicated area where, amongst other things, the lecture facilities and restaurant are located. A carpet in LivingInteriors orange also helps point visitors in the right direction.

Trend Avenue is divided into two sections: the first presents the trends from bathrooms, flooring/wall coverings and lighting, the second the winners of the Interior Innovation Award 2014, which will be presented for the twelfth time by its organiser the German Design Council in collaboration with its official partner the imm cologne.

The latest products and materials from exhibitors used for the trend scenographies will be arranged in stage-like presentation elements on the basis of various trend and colour worlds. Each set provides visitors with a quick overview of exhibitors’ new ideas. The colour world for the flooring/wall coverings segment will be defined by Memento Blue and Natural Vintage. Opulent, sometimes deep-pile and historic patterns will contrast with natural and technically modified materials. The bathroom set will be shown in Sparkling Grey and dominated by premium materials. The lighting trends will be presented in contrasting cubes in Reflecting Black and Shining White. There will be a handout for visitors containing details of all the materials and products, as well as additional information on the exhibitors involved.
