Republic of Fritz Hansen™ welcomes a new member of its Kaiser lamp collection

Danish Premium brand Republic of Fritz Hansen™ launches the table lamp KAISER idell model 6556-T, also known as the Secretary Lamp. The lamp was designed by the German silversmith and designer Christian Dell in the late 1930s, drawing on inspiration from his time as a teacher at the Bauhaus School in Weimar. The new table lamp has a more understated and subtle expression and takes up less room than the popular KAISER idell table lamp model 6631 Luxury, which is known as the Executive Lamp. The new model has a prominent shade, a beautiful lacquer finish and a textile cord; features that combine to form the exclusive and timeless design that characterizes the KAISER idell lamp series. Christian Dell was inspired to create the lamp series during his time as a foreman in the metal workshop at the Bauhaus School in Weimar in 1922-25, where he developed a new groundbreaking style in metal design. The Secretary Lamp is part of a series that is continually expanded with new colours and models, all of which can be mixed and combined. Apart from the table lamps, the series includes a wall lamp, a pendant lamp and two floor lamps. The new table lamp is available in either matt or glossy black. Like the other KAISER idell lamps, it comes with a certificate with a unique ID-number that verifies its authenticity. At fritzhansen.com, buyers can register for a five-year warranty. The KAISER idell table lamp model 6556-T is launched in the Republic of Fritz Hansen’s Stockholm showroom in connection with the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013. The table lamp is available from the Republic of Fritz Hansen and authorized retailers from February 2013.
