Designer Monica Förster has been commissioned to design an installation for Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, 7-11 February 2012, for the project Hello! - Anatomy of Organizations. The theme this time around is the organization and how it shapes - and will shape - future workplaces.

Monica Förster's concept for the installation draws inspiration from the human body and comprises a ‘town’ where the various buildings represent organs, linked to one another by a system that is comparable with blood vessels and nerves. Each and every one is a separate diorama or scene in miniature, illustrating individual elements of the organization's anatomy in the form of work functions within a modern office environment. Each diorama features furniture, lighting and textiles from leading producers attending the exhibition, as well as other interesting products and prototypes.

“All elements of the organization are required if the office body is to function, and each organ needs to be present and working. The parts work independently on various tasks and at the same time in unison in a flow chart that forms the whole,” says Monica Förster.

Monica Förster is one of the leading names within Swedish design. While Monica's design studio is in Stockholm, her work with companies such as Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, De Padova, Offecct and Swedese takes her around the world.

It feels fantastic to be able to work alongside one of Sweden's very best designers on this exhibition. I presented our concept to Monica and during the discussions that followed we identified a great many issues that fascinate us both. The partnership developed naturally from that point on,” says Sanna Gebeyehu, the project developer for Hello!

Hello! - Anatomy of Organizations comprises an installation and a talkshow. The concept looks at issues to do with the modern office and aims to dissect its most fundamental building blocks without losing sight of the complex whole.
