The Guest by Lladró protagonist in the first annual NYCxDESIGN Awards

Lladró is the official awards sponsor for the first annual NYCxDESIGN Awards presented by Interior Design and ICFF. A custom version of The Guest by Lladró, the Spanish manufacturer of handmade porcelain pieces, has been created for this special occasion that celebrates the most outstanding talent in design.

The Guest is an ongoing project inviting cutting-edge artists from around the world to give a distinctive personality to the singular porcelain character created by the Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. This original project responds to the mandate of Lladró Atelier, a space for creativity for the brand's designers open to new experiences in porcelain.

For the occasion, Lladró artists and technicians at the brand's workshops in Spain have developed a new version of the unique porcelain character, handpainted with platinum luster over an orange base, inspired NYCxDESIGN Awards signature color.

NYCxDESIGN Awards, presented by Interior Design magazine and ICFF is an open and inclusive program celebrating the outstanding achievement across major areas of design such as architecture, interiors, furnishing, lighting, craft, technology, and collectible. The Awards will be the connection that pulls together, focuses and rewards excellence in design achievement from the over 500 events that comprise New York City's showcase of global design.

The Lladró handmade award will be bestowed upon winners—architects, interior designers, and product designers—on May 14th at 6PM at the MoMA.
