Teresa Sapey is a Piedmontese of origin and Madrilenian by adoption artist. Energetic, pragmatic, Sapey forms the idea of an architecture that contains the multiple expressions of creativity, conceived as a global work of art.

As in life, so in her projects, Teresa's gaze is free when it comes to reality; she incessantly investigates human life and the inhabited space, lived and experienced, both consciously and distractedly. Hence the interest in the residual places of contemporaneity - like parking lots, bridges, underpasses, walkways, squares without design - that Teresa wants to redeem from the neglect and disharmony, performing a real artistic gesture.

In 2004, she participates in the Hotel Puerta América project in Madrid together with internationally renowned architects such as Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster, David Chipperfield, Jean Nouvel, Ron Arad, and Arata Isozaki, taking on, indeed, parking design. Hence the nickname Madame Parking, coined by Jean Nouvel himself, identifying Teresa as the undisputed icon of one of the non-places which contemporaneity treats with superficiality.

In her architectural approach whose form is expression of content, projects are born from emotions and feelings, which are conveyed clearly through light and colour, thanks to which she manages to make the environments shine and harmonize.

“Colour is matter, volume, life: like light.
Colours are the ingredients of my projects. Always”

An example of this is the decorative intervention in the three hotels of the Room Mate chain, the
many private residences designed over the years in the world, and the Christmas lights project that illuminated the sky in Madrid in 2012, where shapes and colours change with the passage of time. Light and colour, constant presence in her projects, is for Teresa Sapey total expression of emotion.
