Nendo designed the new tableware with handles, “totte-plate”, for by | n
Cooking utensils such as pots and frying pans have handles, but tableware such as plates and bowls do not. In the new tableware “totte-plate” designed by nendo for by | n, plates and bowls have handles.
nendo has designed plates and bowls with handles, ‘totte’ in Japanese, giving them new functions: they are easier to carry, they can be hanged and stored with hooks, and are easier to hold when the plates and bowls are hot.
Not only has this resulted in new ways of using them but provided them with a strong “sense of security as a tool”.
The product lineup consists of round plates and bowls, each in three different sizes and in five different colours.
For now, this item is only available for purchase in Japan.
About the by | n brand concept
With functionality borne of the desire to make everyday objects just a little easier to use, and design that delights just by looking at it, by | n wants to create answers to the needs that arise naturally in everyday life. They hope to be a brand that can find its way into being included in all aspects of daily life. They want to put a bit of surprise into the emotions that we all encounter during interactions with everyday objects.
