Capdell presents six new table collections created by renowned international designers

Well known for its chairs the Spanish company Capdell has launched this year six brand new table collections from several international designers, which meet every need, both in private and public spaces. Here we discover them for you.

ABLE designed by Fiorenzo Dorigo. The soul of wood

High technology and warmth, the expressive power of material rendered in a strong, pure stylistic line that strikes a balance between design and function.

ABLE is a collection of tables that focuses on the material, wood: it is proposed with a ‘natural’ finish as if it had just come from the sawmill, contrasted with the structural bars of the frame and visible details that make up the table’s skeleton.

The proportions play with the stylistic dichotomy between the solid structure of the slightly slanted legs in solid beech or durmast and the elegant and extremely fine table top that renders the whole streamlined and aerodynamic. The structural frame closes into a “U” that fits perfectly around the legs to fix them, creating an extremely fine, well-made stylistic detail.

The ABLE collection includes various types of tables in different sizes, including elegant occasional tables. The table top is available in wood or in 12 mm tempered glass and is varnished underneath.

Gazelle designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune. Graceful elegance

Light, ethereal and very chic
Capdell presents an important collection of tables with a pure, stylised design. The main feature of this collection is the subtle but sculptural morphology of the elegant legs that support a very thin table top. Refined elegance that removes mass and leaves the essential, suitable for any space.

A digital classic
The design of the legs, in anodised aluminium, is the result of digital morphing, the fluid, gradual and endless transformation of a circle and a triangle. The result is a sculptural form inspired by Italian classics like Superleggera by Gio Ponti and by the most rigorous elegance of Scandinavian wood furniture from the ’50s and ’60s.

A real design project
Gazelle’s constructive concept permits any type of shape and size table, in different measurements, shapes and materials. The legs are in anodised aluminium or epoxy varnish. There are various kinds of table tops: round, oval or rectangular in beech plywood, durmast, melamine HDF in various colours, Compac and extra clear tempered glass. The versions with top in phenolic laminated plywood and glass are also suitable for outdoor use.

GUS designed by FRANCESCRIFÉSTUDIO. Design happy hour

Table for the contract sector, available with both a round and square top, with a sober yet striking design. The distinctive feature of Gus is the concrete pedestal that intends to blend with the urban landscape, becoming almost an extension of the pavement.

The table top is supported by a metal tube covered in epoxy varnish, which blends with the concrete base. The edges of the table top are rounded to give the product a harmonious shape and to balance the striking aesthetics of the concrete base. The result is a table with perfectly balanced shapes and dimensions.

PLA designed by Carlos Tiscar. A contemporary archetype

PLA is an elegant table for the home, the archetype of the traditional wooden table, whose distinctive feature is the use of eight wooden cross beams with a perfectly equal triangular section that make up the whole structure of the legs and table top support.

Made of solid beech wood, the original triangular legs render the table light and airy, while preserving a warm and familiar aesthetic.

Tri-Star designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune. Simple lines and materials

The Tri-Star table features an unusual central stem with three triangular aluminium extrusions that form a 3-point, star-shaped base.

The stem can support various tops, all suitable for different types of domestic or contract needs: round, square or – thanks to a combination of two stems – rectangular. Tri-Star is available in anodised aluminium or with an epoxy varnish in various colours.

W designed by Gabriel Teixidó. An association of creative ideas

W is a table with a tempered glass top that highlights the structure of the base, a 50 mm Ø chrome-plated opaque or expoy- varnished steel tube.

The metal structure, the central feature of the table, has three parts: a central tube and two feet that can be quickly and easily slotted in with a perfect finish.

The table is the work of designer Gabriel Teixidó, who employed an almost subconscious association of ideas in the creative phase: metal structure = tube = stability = logical expression = easy assembly = solution = imagination = execution.

The result is a table in which the glass top becomes the almost invisible surround of the pedestal, which expresses its contemporary nature in both its shapes and the combination of materials available.
