It may be a cliché but the world is smaller than it used to be, travel nowadays is a rite of passage for the millennial generation who look on the planet as a place for exploration, an affirmation of that which unites rather than divides. Staying in hostels remains the preferred accommodation for under 35s providing cheap, cheerful and affordable lodgings.

Hostelworld is the leading global hostel-booking platform, operating across 170 countries in 33,000 properties. For their headquarters in Dublin located in the effervescent Docklands area of the city and designed by Henry J. Lyons Architects the company selected Viccarbe furniture to communicate the company ethos; vibrant, dynamic, colourful and practical.

The project consists of an open plan office where work stations, break-out areas and a fully functional kitchen are combined to create a space of laid back efficiency, a millennial work environment where Viccarbe's furniture sets the tone.

The relaxation areas are provided with the Step sofa, a cubic modular seating system whose flexibility and hand-stitched seams express the production standards of a collection where robust design meets exquisite detailing. The Maarten Chair, designed by Víctor Carrasco is a collection of upholstered office chairs that blur the boundary between work and leisure with their contemporary and colourful design. Its companion Maarten Table is a versatile side table designed for working on a laptop, impromptu meetings or coffee breaks. The collection includes 11 models, the perfect compliment to an interior where excellence in design is an expression of excellence in service.
