On Thursday, September 12, Höst won two highly prestigious Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2013 in London for its distinctive Nordic design created as a collaboration between Danish design company MENU, Norm Architects & Restaurateurs Cofoco.

Höst won the prize for “Best European Restaurant” and as a big surprise was called back onto the stage to receive the main prize for “Best Restaurant” in front of 1,500 people. Höst is the first Danish restaurant to join a select group of restaurants created by world-renowned architects such as Foster Group and Tom Dixon Group, who have previously won the prestigious prize.

Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, Head of Design Norm Architects, comments:

It's amazing! And to think the Höst concept was initially born out of the desire to create an interactive space where we could showcase the New Norm Dinnerware collection we designed for MENU. A unique collection with multitude of possibilities, that needed a universe to come alive. We really thought out-of-the-box on this one”.

New Norm Dinnerware takes its starting point in the “New Nordic” movement: a timeless aesthetic rooted in traditions and driven forward by visions. The multitude of parts, materials and colours provide numerous possibilities and expressions, and when you flip over certain parts, you’ll find an entry to www.newnorm.dk, an online inspirational universe of everything distinctly Scandinavian: moods, designs and recipes.

The restaurant, which opened in November 2012, represents the New Nordic kitchen and serves as an inspirational universe where you can interact with the New Norm Dinnerware. An irresistible atmosphere where plates, bowls, cups and bottles come alive. It's a space open for everyone to visit, a showroom where you can purchase the dinnerware collection.
