Piquadro,leading company in the production of professional and travel leather wear, opens its first boutique in Paris. The French flagship store has been designed as a large mono-material sculpture (DuPont™ Corian® techno-surface) by architect Karim Azzabi, who also created the futuristic Piquadro headquarters near Bologna (Italy).

Every day, the Charles de Gaulle international airport in Paris welcomes thousands of passengers, who are often in a hurry, and the facility needs to cope with chaotic conditions at times. Terminal 2F recently unveiled a brand new entrance hall, consisting of three pillars, all entirely made of HI-MACS®. Marc Fidelle, and Andrei David, architects from the Paris Airport Engineering and Architectural Management were looking for a hard-wearing material, which could satisfy the needs relating to public premises.

Share this:Statthocker: Disused street lanterns turned into new furniture with HI-MACS® seat
Classic 1960s street lanterns, shaped like mushrooms, are now being put to a new use: They have been turned into stools known as “Statthocker”. When the hard plastic lantern shades were removed to make way for energy saving diode lamps, the Bielefeld product and interior designers Oliver Bahr and Bastian Demmer came up with the idea of repurposing them into stackable stools, because of their perfect seat height.
